CLEPThe College Level Examination Program, or CLEP, is a standardized test available in various subject areas. Click here for a list of Franklin credit granted for CLEP tests
- All CLEP tests have a 90 minute time limit and are in a multiple choice format.
- All CLEP tests are computer-based.
- Although scores are available immediately, it may take up to 45 days for the official CLEP credit to be sent to Franklin and appear on your transcript.
- CLEP tests are taken ONLY on computers in the Student Learning Center at the Main Campus, Downtown location.
NOTE: CLEP testing is limited to current Franklin students. Students from other universities should visit the CLEP website to find an 'open' testing center in the area.

FUPEFranklin University creates proficiency exams on an ongoing basis. These are called Franklin University Proficiency Examinations, or FUPE's.
- Generally, if a CLEP exam is available for a subject, there will be no FUPE for the subject. Click here for a list of available FUPE exams.
- Time limits and formats vary from test to test, so please obtain study guides available in the SLC (click here for a list of study guides).
- It may take up to three weeks to be evaluated and results to be reported.
