ACT-Residual
This exam is a college admissions exam for students who missed the ACT National test dates, or those who only want the scores reported to MTSU. There is a 60 day waiting period to retake the test. If the ACT-Residual is administered to you less than 60 days from the last time you took the exam, it will NOT be scored, and your fee will NOT be refunded.Important Information
- On exam day bring your unique I.D. number and test fee receipt located on your online registration receipt. You must also present a valid photo I.D. (current drivers license is suitable.) For other acceptable forms of I.D. refer to your registration materials.
- Total cost is $40 and is non-refundable.*
- Test time starts at 7:45 a.m. and ends around 12:00 p.m.
- Scores are normally reported to the admissions office within 24-48 hours of testing.

CLEP exams are a great way to earn 3 to 8 hours of college credit!Important Information
- On exam day bring your unique I.D. number and test fee receipt located on your online registration receipt. You are required to present TWO photo identifications. One must be a valid/unexpired driver's license and the other can be a military ID, passport, state or federal ID, employee photo ID, student photo ID or credit card with photo.
- CLEP exams are multiple-choice, last 90 minutes and are taken on computer.
- For MTSU students, the English CLEP exams require an essay and are 90 minutes longer.
- If you fail a CLEP exam you must wait 6 months before retaking it.
- You will receive an immediate score. Official results will be available from Admissions in 2 to 3 weeks. The test results are evaluated by Admissions and recorded on your transcript if credit is earned. CLEP exams are graded on a pass/fail basis and credits do not affect your GPA.
- A student may not CLEP a course for which has been previously taken-no matter the grade.

- Total cost for a CLEP exam is $105.* A non-refundable payment of $28 is required upon registration. On test day you will pay a $77 fee to CLEP using a credit card or check.

TopMAT
The MAT is a graduate school admissions exam and must be taken if you want to apply to a graduate school that accepts or requires the MAT as an admissions exam.Important Information
- The MAT is computerized. Exams are given by appointment only and pre-registration is required.
- On exam day bring your unique I.D. number and test fee receipt located on your online registration receipt. You must also present a valid photo I.D. (current drivers license and social security card.)
- Total cost is $73 and is non-refundable.
- Test is 50 minutes.
- There are 100 questions.
- Scores are mailed within 2 to 4 weeks.
- The Psychological Corporation will mail your results to your home address. Scores required for admission to graduate school depend upon your major. Check with an advisor and/or the graduate office for details and score requirements.
